Gather round my friends and you shall hear
Of the adventures of the women of First Presbyterian
They wear many hats as they stay their course
You might say they are a mighty force
The moderator wears the elegant black hat
For she leads the circles with her rallying chat
There is no gambling on this bunch,
The bucks roll in with whatever they touch…..
Knitting and purling; hooking and chaining
And making bookmarks galore,
They outdid themselves with caps and necklaces
For the Congo with $2,200 and more
The Chef’s hat is regal indeed
With pots and pans in hand
They baste and bake and chop and knead
Making lunches and brunches so grand
And of course, we cannot overlook the magnificent bake sale
With cookies and pies and cakes so fine
Three groups benefitted and that ain’t no tale….
Final proceeds of over $1,200 was the bottom line
The sun hat serves many purposes for the ladies of our church
From local gardens, elegant flowers
Graced the table at many showers
and
The Nite Circle went to the beach
As they celebrated their 20th retreat
One thing for sure can be said for these gals….
They each step up to the plate to take a turn at bat
They all work as pals
Busy as a swarm of gnats
Just like the fireman, they come to the rescue
These ladies comfort and clean and phone
In their efforts, they are true blue
And they collect beach towels for the Presbyterian Home
Each one deserves diamonds in her crown
As she nurtures, supports, studies and prays
For nothing can keep a PW down
May each continue to shine bright like the sun’s rays
Now as the sun slowly sets in the west
There are NO villains here
Safe and secure we can rest
Knowing that the faithful PW are near.
STAND WITH ME,
TAKE A HAT FROM THE TABLE
AND SALUTE
